How to Forgive

                                                                 Can I really forgive?

After the hurt you gave me

After the pains, sorrows and aches u showered upon me,

After many fights, tears, only to look upon your eye,

Heartache, rejecton, all come piling down on me,

Like a hail of heavy stones, 

Weighing me down, making my sink deep into the depths of own's sorrows,

Can I forgive u?

U said you were sorry,

But did you mean it?

I said it was okay, 

I forgive u,

But did I really manage to?

Why did you do it at first?

We were best friends,

But you chose to end the tie of friendship,

A single lie,

That broke the tie,

Into a million little pieces

Yes, we have grown apart,

Gone our separate ways,

Taken a different road in life,

Forgetting about each other,

Forgetting about the smiles and tears altogether

But I saw you today by the road

We looked at each other for an instant

Memories flashing back in a second

We looked at each other and smiled,

Softly, oh so softly,

I whispered,

"I forgive"
